Clinical and Laboratorial Haematology I2

Hematologia Clinico-Laboratorial I

Course code:68205

Teresa Maria da Silva do Nascimento

Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

Integrated study of various aspects of haematology and knowledge of the complex mechanisms associated with a view to its application in diagnostic laboratory haematology.
At the end of this course, students should know: haematopoiesis, red blood cell physiology, main types of anaemia and laboratory parameters for their evaluation. At the end of the practical component student will be able to work in a haematology laboratory and perform basic hematologic techniques, such as total blood counts, running and staining of smears, supra-vital staining and erythrocyte sedimentation rate.
