Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
- Knowledge and microscopic identification of human organs, with particular regard to the oral cavity, gastrointestinal tract and lymphoid organs;
- Learning how to apply the knowledge, use correct terminology, and knowing the technical procedures;
- The student must possess the essential tools for the development of the study, clinical research and laboratory practice.
Syllabus:
- General structure of the gut and tissue components of the various organs.
- Study of digestive system organs, digestive system accessory glands and lymphoid organs.
- Oral cavity, salivary glands and tooth.
- Oral cavity embryology (oral mucosa, tongue and palate) and tooth embryology (enamel, dentin, dental pulp, cementum, periodontum, periodontal ligament).
- Teeth eruption.
