Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
The Pathology and Diet Therapy I comprises the pathophysiological aspects of the disease in a systematic and integrated manner, its etiology and proper nutritional therapy.
Skills to be developed:
- Understanding the relationship between nutrition and disease.
- Establishing nutritional diagnostics and tailor nutritional intervention, practicing evidence-based nutrition.

- Artificial Nutrition
- Nutritional therapy in diseases of the Digestive System
- Nutrition Therapy in Obesity
Theoretical / practical classes:
The theoretical/practical classes will consist in the discussion of clinical cases and assisted practice in the Nutrition Consultation at the Egas Moniz Dental Clinic. All content taught in lectures will be addressed in a practical way.
