Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
The Community Nutrition Unit aims to acquaint students with the role of nutrition in public health, to provide students with the skills needed to effectively plan nutritional interventions in vulnerable populations, and to contribute to the delineation and implementation of effective and successful programs in Community Nutrition.
Skills to be developed:
- To understand and to correctly use specific concepts of Community Nutrition.
- To recognize the role and skills of the Community Nutritionist.
- To understand and to correctly apply nutritional screening and assessment methods in Community Nutrition.
- To be able to plan community nutrition programs intending the promotion of public health and disease prevention throughout the life cycle.
- To be able to interact as a member of an interdisciplinary group in Public Health and Community Nutrition.
- To critically analyse data from scientific press.
